The news that Mr. Whittaker had passed away saddened me. He had an enormous gift of music. Every time he came to Toronto i took the opportunity to see him in concert. i loved his songs, his whistling, etc. He had such a great sense of humour. May he rest in the peace of God. My sincere condolences to his wife, Natalie and his children and indeed his whole family. His music will live on. Thanks for the memories of great music, Roger !!!!

I have fond memories of listening to Roger Whittaker records with my parents when I was a kid. What a beautiful velvety smooth voice he had and songs with meaning and depth. My favourite was Last farewell and was played at my dad's funeral. The world has lost a big one but thanks to his recordings his music will live on. My thoughts go out to all his family...R.I.P ROGER.

Goodnight, dearest Roger. ❤️‍ I will remain eternally thankful for your music. Listening to your voice (and, within that oh-so-unique voice, the unmistakable beauty of your heart) was always, for me, like being encompassed safely in the arms of a dear, strong, kind, loving and protective friend. So much warmth, so much softness, and so much unshakable power and presence. Thank you for being. You are in my heart always. ❤️‍ --- "For I have loved you dearly More dearly than The spoken word can tell."

I am very sad to hear of Roger's passing. In 1975, I was working at a college radio station in Phoenix and would play his music. Quite frequently I would get calls requesting his music and often people calling and thanking me for playing his songs, especially when "The Last Farewell" was reissued in 1975. (It originally came out in 1971). That song would become a Number One hit on the Adult Contemporary chart and peak at Number 19 on Billboard's Top 40 chart. I believe that song was also covered by Elvis Presley in 1976. This may be the "Last Farewell," but Roger, your music will live on forever.

I grew up listening to his music with my mom and dad playing his records. I was just listening to him today in the car. He had such a beautiful voice and skill at whistling which my father loved to hear. My parents were fortunate enough to see live hear in Kingston Ontario Canada. RIP Mr. Whittaker, your music will on forever!

Not only has a great artist (for me the best ever) passed away, but also a really great person! I had the privilege of meeting him in person several times and attended many of his concerts. Those were some of the most beautiful experiences in my life. Roger, I will miss you very much! But you live on in your music and we will never forget you. My deepest condolences to Natalie and the entire family! R.I.P🌹

I learned many of his songs that spoke of the love for another so I could sing them to my now wife. Among many of them, I sang "One Another" to her for our wedding, now 29 years ago. Roger's voice (baritone/tenor) was close to mine so it made it so much easier to learn the songs. Thank you Roger for all of the songs, and thank you to the family for sharing him with us. My deepest of condolences to his family and close friends. Godspeed Roger.

Roger's music was a big part of my childhood, as my parents loved his music. My first ever proper live concert was his concert in Ekeberghallen, Norway, in 1976 or 77, and I remember falling asleep on mum's lap. 🙈😁 I still play the songs on Spotify from time time. ❤️ Go well into the light Roger, and thank you for the music and the happy memories! 🎶 ❤️

Poleni Sana to Roger Whittaker’s family. We’ve lost a genius and giant of a musician. I remember seeing him fly into our beloved Wilson Airport in his own Beechcraft KingAir 200 aircraft aptly registered G-SONG all those years ago during the making of his classic and beautiful album “Roger Whittaker in Kenya - A Musical Safari”. An accomplished pilot and an accomplished musician. You will be missed. RIP and Safari Njema! Om Shanti.

I am very saddened to learn of Mr. Whittaker's death. He was an artist with significant talent whose impact upon millions of people world-wide is unmistakable. In 1991, I began collecting autographs of noted people to auction in support of the Black College Fund of the United Methodist Church. In 1997, I contacted Mr. Whittaker via. a venue at which he was appearing in New York, and he graciously autographed the items that I had included in support of this Fund. He shared his time, his generosity, and his giving nature in this regard, and for that I will always remember him as well. May God bless everyone in Mr. Whittaker's family with comfort and with peace. Rev. Russ Waldmann, 9/19/2023.
