Deepest condolences to Natalie and the family. What a legacy Roger has left us, I have enjoyed Roger's music for over 50 years. and have numerous vinyl records and CD's as he was my favourite singer of all time. I even was a member of his fan club. The Christmas CD's are on every year. I did enjoy Roger;'s TV series and the musical Safari in Kenya. Roger had such a golden voice which was sounded in all his musical talents. One of my favourites I have always liked is 'My Silver Eagle'. My house has always been full of your music and comforted me whenever I have been at a low ebb. Rest in peace and sing in heaven.

I've loved Roger's music since the 1970s, and my favourite of his songs is I Don't Believe In If Anymore, which has a wonderful bass sound as well. I saw Roger in concert in Montreal about 40 years ago and was amazed not only by his singing, but his live whistling. My sincere condolences to his family and friends on the loss of perhaps the warmest male voice in music (for me the warmest female voice belonged to Karen Carpenter).

Roger, I was introduced to your music in 1980, and instantly I felt in love with your songs and voice. It was your singing that carried me through so many difficult time during my youth and college. Very few singers have impacted me the way you have and I forever grateful for your music. I saw you in Phoenix and Tucson back in late 1980's and to this I clearly remember those concerts. With utmost gratitude and affection from your admirer. Ghaffar A Namjou

His music touched so many people all over the world. His song " You are my miracle" was a source of great comfort to me when my husband died and continues to bless me when ever I hear it. I hope it will be of comfort to you in your loss. Sincerely, Colleen Hesson

I was a young boy in the early 80's when Roger was already very popular here in Germany. I saw him on TV several times. In the famous "Hitparade" and the saturday evening shows while sitting on the couch with Grandma and Grandpa or my parents he was the opposite to many other singers of that time. His remarkable smooth and unique voice in a very clear English, was easy to understand for a schoolkid. His German pronounciation in addition was absolutely perfect and remarkable. I will never forget the songs. He'll be on my playlists forwever. Rest in peace, dear Roger Whittaker. My sincere condolences go out to his family and friends.

As a radio personality and manager specializing in easy listening and adult contemporary music, I had the pleasure of playing and enjoying Roger's music for nearly 47 years. I had the honor of meeting Roger and hosting several of his concerts in Miami and Honolulu over the years. Roger enjoyed a good steak after a concert and he and his lovely wife joined our radio family at Hy's Steakhouse in Waikiki during his final visit there. His mellifluous voice was recognized immediately by diners nearby. Roger was as advertised....humble and personable. He was a rare talent who was a master of many skills and arts. I shall miss him greatly. He was one of a kind and his uniqueness cannot be duplicated.

I am an Afrikaner living in South Africa. Roger Whittaker was and will remain my number one and most gifted singer writer. My whole family adores him and his departure to better pastures is a very heartfelt void in my existence. I trust he will rest in peace at the feet of God Almighty. We will sorely mis you Roger!!!

I met Roger In 1980. The radio station for which I was Program Director had forced played, The Last Farwell, which later resulted in other radio stations around the US discovering this wonderful song. On the night of March 15th, he performed to a sold out crowd in the Civic Center in Atlanta, Georgia in the United States. I was back stage with Roger in his dressing room when he discovered he had left his trouser belt in the hotel room. I gave him mine. A short while later I went on stage and introduced him to the waiting crowd. He appeared to tumultous applause and gracious accepted the warm reception. Unbenoned to me, someone had told him that this was my birthday. Suddenly, he burst into singing happy birthday to me, encouraging the audience to join in. A special remembrance for me on my 39th birthday, which has kept a warm place in my heart for his thoughtfullness. ( I have two pictures that I wanted to share with, however, there is no ability to attach them here. If you will advise me, I will send them for the family.)

After seeing him in Toronto our young family became immersed in his music. Our young daughters laughed hysterically as he sang “I’m being eaten by a boa constrictor.” His musical ability was further enhanced by a magnetic stage presence and intellectual chatter with the audience. His quip on politicians gave me one of my best jokes for life: “ politicians remind me of a bunch of bananas; they’re all yellow, they all hang together and there’s not a straight one among them.” My daughters fondly remember dancing in Daddy’s arms as I humbly tried to emulate his powerful, yet comforting voice. The words of his many songs portray a love and a zest for life. He is a man I would love to meet in a much more peaceful future. John 5:28, Psalm 37: 10,11,29
