Our heartfelt condolences and prayers for the Whittaker family. Roger Whittaker was such a special part of our lives for the past five decades, and his music will live on with us. We (twins) started listening to his music when we were five years old (1982) and haven’t stopped listening after all these years. Although we were born and raised in Canada, people regularly tell us we have British accents…which is probably the result of us singing along to so many of Roger Whittaker’s songs as we were growing up. We never missed the chance to see him in concert when he’d tour to British Columbia (1980’s – 1990’s) and he’d always take the time after each concert to visit with us. He felt like family to us because his music was always playing in our family’s home, in our vehicles, and even out at the family cottage. So many of the messages in his songs uplifted us, inspired us, and gave us strength to carry on. Thank you, Roger Whittaker, for sharing your beautiful voice, melodious whistling, and special ballads with the world. We will treasure your music forever.

Since hearing the sad news I can’t stop listening to his music and appreciate it more than ever. The video of him singing A Perfect Day with his daughter I find particularly moving. So lovely that he had such a wonderful marriage and family. They will miss him terribly. My condolences.

For the last two decades, I have listened to Roger Whittaker's songs, especially my favorite: "Canada Is". I find his voice very soothing, warm and comforting. Wish I had a chance to see him perform live in person. Condolences to the Whittaker Family.

R.I.P. Roger, you were my teacher at Nairobi Primary from 53-59, I recall you telling us stories about going up to Ethiopia and playing for Haile Selassie during the schools hols. It was great to visit with you when you came to Sacramento, CA, back in 1996 ish. It was a bummer for you when your Dad was murdered in Kenya. You had a great aircraft registration G-SONG. My wife and I were Iceland in June 2023, we stayed at the Hilton in Reykjavik the lobby walls were decorated with LP covers. I asked why the LP covers? The lady at reception said they took over an old record shop and they were the inventory. Next to the elevator (lift)door, was one of Roger's LP covers. I was pleasantly surprised. Condolences to your family again R.I.P.

I was saddened to learn of Rogers passing. I grew up during the 70s and his songs, The Last Farewell, Durham Town and A New World In The Morning are songs I'm very fond of. He had such a warm, unique voice. I've been listening to many of his hits over the last two days. RIP, Roger and condolences to family and friends.

Sincere sympathy to Roger's family on the sad passing of a wonderful family man who gave selflessly to his community. We have very happy memories of his years in Eyrecourt where he was a very generous neighbour to our small National school. May he now rest in peace.

My dad used to play Roger on vinyl records and we always sang along. Or even whistled (as well as we could). His Christmas music is especially special to us. We'll miss you, Roger.
