RIP Roger Whittaker....
You did so many very fabulous songs that brought great pleasure to myself and family. Your songs resonated messages of hope, love, gratitude, peace and blessings. May those songs bring you bountiful blessings and love in the afterlife. Thank you immensely.
May your soul rest in eternal bliss Whittaker. It is well ...
Rest in peace, your music has always cheered me up. My condolences to your family and friends.
So much love to Emily and JJ - I have lost touch but the Whittakers were incredibly kind to me as a young girl and Roger is writ large in my memories of happy times with the family xxx
What an absolute legend this man was!
Such a beautiful voice and such an obvious gentleman, massive loss, thoughts are with his family.
Thank you for musically being in my life since my pre-school days back in the 70s. My deepest condolences to Mr. Whittaker's family and friends.
I was talking about him with my daughter the other night at an Earth Wind and Fire concert saying he was right up there with my favorites growing up. I played his cassette tapes over and over until they wore out. His music and soothing voice will remain in my heart always. Sending sincere condolences to your family.
I became acquainted with Roger Whittaker in 1978 while living in Braunschweig, Germany. I was able to pick up the British Forces radio station. They often played The Last Farewell. I fell in love with this songโฆAs I was homesick..it brought tears to my eyes. I became a fan for life. I was fortunate several years later to see him in person. What a fantastic entertainer he was. I own several of his CDs and still listen to his music frequently. His Christmas music is also superb. The choir in heaven has improved greatly with this latest addition. Thank you Roger for sharing your wonderful voice with us. May you rest in peace. My sincere thoughts and prayers for your family and friends. ๐๐๐ป๐๐๐๐ป๐
I saw and met him when I was 13, everyone else in the venue was over 45! I will NEVER forget the gentleness, kindness, and unbelievable honor it was to meet him.....I did again at 18, and again, I was the youngest in the venue!
He remembered me!
Not by name, but the little girl who was up past her bedtime!
I will ALWAYS love his voice, and always hold the photo of him and I very close and very dear.
Very saddened to learn of Roger's passing.
His music was a loved part of my upbringing often heard in our house.
Listening to his music still makes me feel happy and look to the future with optimism.
