I had the pleasure of getting to know him a little on an eastern Canadian tour in the early 90s. I was working for local production company. A true gentleman and gentle man. I found It very easy to call him Sir because he had earned that respect. He would wave me off and say “It’s Roger”. I replied “Very good Sir” His road band at the time was top drawer and a lot of fun. As his PA tech and monitor guy we had some fun routines during sound check and show that I am smiling about even now. Thank you Sir! It was an honour to have your trust.

So sad to hear of Rogers' passing. My wife and I really enjoyed his music. The first time we saw Roger was sometime in the 1970's at Orchestra Hall in Chicago. Over the years we saw him perform twice in Aurora, Illinois and once in St. Louis, Missouri. Always looked forward to his show and enjoyed him so much.

I’ve always enjoyed Rogers singing ever since I was a young lad, growing up in a fishing community where I was exposed to different genres of music. I hoped Roger would be around for a while longer to share more music and stories with us, but sadly, that won’t be possible. I’m so sorry for your family’s loss, a lot of us are really going to miss him. Thank you Roger for your gift to all of us.

My sympathy to Roger’s family. I grew up listening to his soothing smooth voice my whole life. I am now 56 and feel like I’ve lost a friend of the family. His Wind beneath my wings was my dance with my dad at my wedding. Christmas doesn’t start until Roger’s Christmas album is played. I will forever play and pass along the gift of growing up with Roger Whittaker in my life. Rest in Peace.

I remember growing up listening to his records in the living room with the family. It was one of my Dad's favorite records and then mine. Thank you!

I am overcome with sadness to hear of the passing of one of my favourite musicians of all time, from the days when I was just a lad in Cape Town South Africa, your songs entered my life and have never left. Every audio device of mine has many of your songs, which are part of the soundtrack of my life. Thank you for your gifts of music, the joy, sadness and many emotions that your songs conjure up for me, While lately I dont' Believe in If Anymore, tomorrow will be a New World in the Morning, although much sadder morning with out you in it. Rest in peace dear soul and thank you for the music.

I am very sad that you left us. I went to 3 concerts, 1st one Duesseldorf in 1976, in Essen 1976 and 1977. I will never forget you, dear Roger. My thoughts are with your beloved ones. I will take out my LPS and will listen to all your beautiful songs. RIP

I always liked Roger, his music and as a person. Many years ago he was kind enough to send me an autographed photograph of himself. I have always appreciated his kind gesture and I still treasure it now. He will be sadly missed but he will always be remembered and his music will pass into legend.

I am sadden to hear of his passing. Growing up in Cape Breton , he was one of my Mom's favorite singers. Music was an important part of our upbringing. His voice was rich and true, an excellent storyteller and whistler. Whenni hear his music today, it brings me right back to those wonderful times. Thank you Mr Whittaker.. your music will live on ! May you have eternal rest 🙏❤️

I was first "introduced" to Roger & his music when my father changed his car back in the 80s. In the "new" car there was a cassette of Roger's music which I loved listening to. Have loved listening to his music ever since. RIP

Een bijzondere charismatische man is niet meer, een man welke mij op jonge leeftijd wist te pakken met zijn heldere unieke stemgeluid (en fluit), zijn humoristische shows waarin hij Afrika en Europa deed samenkomen.
