I have loved Mr. Whittaker and his beautiful voice for years. My all time favorite is The Last Farewell and I am requesting his record of that be played at my funeral. He brought so much pleasure to so many. Sincere sympathy to his wife and family.
Currently sitting and listening to Skye Boat Song on one of Roger’s old vinyl albums which I cherish so greatly. What a wonderful singer he was. Brought so much depth with each of his recordings. Wish I could have met him.
I had the Honor and the Privilege to see and hear this remarkable man in 1984. I was working at the Sandman Hotel in Kelowna BC. Mr. Whittaker was doing sets for a few evenings and to end my day and sit down to finish it with Him was extraordinary. I was a young 19 yr old, never exposed to his type of music before and I was entranced, especially when he began to whistle, it was a whole new experience for me.
Because of Mr Whittaker, I learned to explore different genres of music.
Thank you Mr. Whittaker from a greatful lifelong fan.
Saddened to learn of this artist's passing. I have numerous songs of his on my Pandora feed.
One song in particular, "All Of My Life", reminds me of a movie I cannot identify. I've searched on-line with no luck. Was this song featured in a movie?
R.I.P., Roger Whittaker☘️☮️✝️
I grew up on Roger Whittaker's music, and still listen to him often. His singing has always warmed and soothed me in a way few others can. He'll always be one of my favorites.
Thank you, Mr. Whittaker. You made the world better. Sleep well.
A big man is gone, music will forever change. Whistling is unesterirmated….
It is with great sadness that I have just heard of Roger Whittaker's passing. He was one of my very favorite singers since childhood. I am most sad that he has passed on. My greatest condolences to his family. May the Lord bless you and give you comfort you in your time of loss. May his soul rest in peace, as he waits for Jesus' soon coming. Amen.
My heartfelt condolences to all family members. Roger Whittaker's was a unique voice and I have spent hours listening to him. What a voice and he came across as a very warm person with great character. One of his songs "Why" is playing in my head now. So so relevant for these times. Roger will never be forgotten. Thank you for your music.
While program director at WADB radio in Point Pleasant, NJ in the 1970s, I added many of his songs to our beautiful music format. We did a one-hour special with all Roger Whittaker music. I had the pleasure of meeting him in NYC during his US tour. When I bought WWFL in Clermont, FL, we promoted him as one of our performers on a radio dial card that advertised stations like ours that broadcasted in the Orlando area. What a wonderful talent!
My parents loved Roger’s music and when we traveled they would play his tapes in the car so we naturally had to listen. They took us to a concert in Philadelphia once and Roger put on a great show. He was a truly gifted singer, storyteller and performer. May he rest in Peace. God Bless
To the Whittaker Family, please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of Mr. Roger Whittaker. Thank You for sharing your Husband, Father, Grandfather with us for many years. I have enjoyed listening to Roger Whittaker for over 45 years. I have always wanted to see Roger perform in person, but never got the opportunity. I have watched many performances posted on youtube.com. He is a true performer. See you in Heaven.
My husband and I discovered Roger and his melodic music not long after we got married in the early 1970’s. We bought cassette tapes of his songs and would play them all the time! Once our daughters we would play the songs for them. Whenever we would go on a road trip we would all be singing along as we traveled down the road! These are some of the sweetest memories our family has! Whenever we hear Roger’s songs we are Immediately transported to those treasured memories! Thank you, Roger, for sharing yourself and your talent with the world. You definitely left an indelible mark and legacy!
With heavy heart I just discovered the loss of Roger Whittaker. As we travel life’s road there are stages we go through & there are people in those stages that influence us & leave an impression along the way. As they pass before us it is like that part of our life has also sadly passed along with them. Roger is one of those wonderful kind & gentle influences in my life for so long. RIP Mr. Whittaker as heaven’s gain is our loss but thankfully your songs will live on with us all. God Bless you & peace to your family at this time of sadness but also a time to celebrate & remember a pure talent that you generously shared with us all.
I have just found out the sad news on Google that Roger has left this mortal coil and its impact on me has been profound.
He had been such an influential part of my young and old life, songs and music, for what seemed like an eternity, I never gave thought to a time when he would not be here.
My wife Anne and I had our picture taken with Roger when he sang at University College Limerick, after we had met Natalie and had a lengthy chat re Roger's voice...
He did not need to sing that night, his charisma and presence filled the theatre to its rafters.
We will never forget the gift of song he has given, or how lucky we were that night just to be there.
Thank you does not seem enough, or no amount of condolences appropriate, but in our hearts we feel your pain.

I just found out today that Mr. Whittaker passed away a few weeks ago. I have on several occasions asked radio stations in the Twin Cities and Omaha, Nebraska, to play "The Last Farewell" as a dedication song in memory of a couple of friends whom I knew during my time in the Army and Navy who have passed away. It touches me in ways that other songs can't.
It has a timeless appeal that will provide listening enjoyment to all who enjoy good music.
My wife and I had the wonderful experience of seeing Roger perform in the USA about 18 years ago. I've always loved listening to him sing on the many CDs that I have. I hope his website continues to be on-line forever. It's very nice to see all of the wonderful comments about Roger on his website.
I will miss Roger Whittaker as he was one my my favorite artists. I had the plesure of seeing him in concert in November 1999. It was absolutely wonderful. I am comforted when I listen to Roger's usic. I always find it difficult to know wht to say at times like this, but I know and agree that heaven has indeed gained another angel.
I first heard Roger in the 1960s with his noted whisteling - he was a favorite of my late wife and we saw him many times in concert. The world has lost a treasure but heaven has gained an angel!
My sincerest condolences to his family.
May he rest in peace.
In the fullness of Time this wonder-filled beautiful soul came upon the stage of life, blessed with such a beautiful voice, and Divinely given voice, and whistle!
Roger Whittaker is now forever “Home” in the holy presence of his Father, singing “Alleluia, ”as also one day we all shall be!
Roger Whittaker, Well done, God’s good and faithful son.
Amen! and Amen, and Amen!
