Mr Whittaker, vous aviez la plus belle voix masculine au monde. Reposez en paix, vous nous avez donné tant d'émotion et de bonheur. Je vous aimerai toujours.

Saw Roger in concert in the 80s, and have been collecting his wonderful albums ever since. He was an amazing whistler, musician and composer- and most important, a first rate human being. With the loss of Bennett, Belafonte and now Roger, this has been a devastating year for music fans. God bless you, Roger-your music will last forever!

Roger was a most favorite singer/songwriter of mine. Singing along with his songs played on my 33 rpm record player was an inspiring activity for many years. I was fortunate to see Roger live in concert a couple times: in 1980, in Los Angeles, CA and a number of years later in my then hometown of Tucson, AZ. When in Los Angeles, circumstances occurred which ended up in my being able to meet Roger and have dinner with him and his Los Angeles agent among others. I came away from that occasion seeing that Roger was a genuine, humble man with a love for people. My favorite songs are the folk songs he sang along with Durham Town and New World in the Morning. Roger's songs will continue to go with me wherever I go. His loss is ours also, but he lives on in our hearts through his songs!

Sad to hear about Roger’s passing. He was my favorite singer since I was 4. I have fond memories of going on “Field Trips” with my babysitter with the RCA The Best of Roger Whittaker and Mirrors of my Mind, and loving the song River Lady, which Roger dedicated to me the night I saw him in concert in Canandaigua. Thanks for the great music.

Roger gave to the world such a treasure. My father, who passed away 33 years ago, would play Roger’s best of cassette in the car as we drove up the coast for family holidays. By the time I was 16, I was a fan, and have loved his music ever since. Now, my own 18 year old son loves his music too, and that links him to a grandfather he never knew. Thank you Roger. I’ll keep practicing my whistling, and tonight, will drink a special toast to you. When my time is up here on Earth, my family will play The Last Farewell at my funeral. Godspeed wonderful man……Godspeed.

In 1984 as we were planning to marry, my fiance and I heard Roger Whittaker's "One Another" and wanted that to be our first dance as a newly wed couple. We contacted Roger for the sheet music - which is now framed and hanging in our bedroom. When our son married two years ago, they had the band play our song and we danced to it again. What a wonderful man, musician, and songwriter. Rest in Peace.

His songs and voice had a comforting quality. If you were leaving the room when his voice reached you, you sat down again. Thank you Roger for the beauty that you shared with us. R.I.P.

I am very saddened to hear that this wonderful man has gone to his rest. He was an amazing singer, creative songwriter, and a beautiful man who gave so much joy and love and light to so many people around the world. He leaves behind an incredible musical legacy. Thank you Roger for sharing your great gifts. This will not be your Last Farewell.

My father played Mr. Whittaker’s records and cassettes all the time. And I passed the good music to my own kids via CD and MP3 (I wish more was available). I often sang “New World In the Morinin” at talent shows growing up because it was my favorite of his tunes.

I fondly remember listening to Roger's songs growing up. He was one of our mum's favourites and she would sing along with her inimitable la la las. In her latter years, with failing eyesight and poor mobility, music became more important than ever to her and Roger was one of the last artists we played her at the end of her 92 years. Listening to his songs now helps bring Mum back. Thank you so much Roger, for the songs and the memories.
