I feel so sad to read of Roger Whittaker's passing. When I was in my last year at primary school in London, our class was invited to appear in a television programme called 'Zingalong'. Each week, a different primary school class appeared with a singer, and they sang songs together. We went there to record two episodes, and the singer that week was Roger Whittaker. He was such a kind and friendly man; a true gentleman. He made us feel so welcome, and I've never forgotten it, even though it was more than fifty years ago. May he rest in peace.

My dad used to play his music in the car every time we went to our summerhouse in the weekend in the 1970-90. Now I play it for my kids the same way. Great memories! When my dad died in 2018 he wanted to listened to Rogers music for his last 2 days before cancer took him. Thanks for your songs and whistles. RIP.

My daughter and I are sharing a bottle of wine, listening to your albums in rememberance. I grew up with your songs, and later used to sneak them in between childrens songs on my daughters first mp3 player. Always wanted to see you live, but I guess that’s to late now. Lots of love to you and your family

Saddened to hear this. I grew up listening to his music, playing and singing it throughout my childhood. Lovely songs, and ballads, and what a great voice. He’ll be much missed.

After a Concert of Roger Whittacker in the 70th I climbed the stage and went to the room, where Roger after knocking openend the door - After a long Session - and talked very friendly and gave me his autograph. I remember him since then as someone who really believed when he sang his beautiful english songs. Some of them - Cactus, One of these days, River lady- will I play as long as my guitar will accompany me. Thank you for all your inspiration, Mister Roger Whittacker

What a voice, what a storyteller and what an inspiring human. Even though I was born in the 1980's, Mr. Whittaker was one the first artists I can remember my parents listening to. So I today listen to his songs with a strong feeling of love, family and appriciation. So sad to hear he has passed, but his music lives on - for me and millions other. Thank you, Mr. Whittaker, thank you! <3
