With love and condolences to the family - You will be much missed and forever in my heart and soul. I can remember running home at school lunchtimes to watch Pebble Mill at One and your BBC programme, going to your concerts in Oxford and meeting you and the lovely Natalie in the Green Room. Seeing you on your final tour of the UK and having a dedication read out for my wife in Slough! God blessed you with a gift of song and a voice to carry it - Rest well.

That’s sad news. I have a special affinity for Roger’s music. My dad was at the same school as him in Kenya. He sang at my parent’s wedding. I am told he dated my dad’s younger sister for a while. I have the table lamp he gave my parents as a wedding present. And I perform his songs. RIP Roger - you have inspired me for as long as I can remember.

Saddened by the news today that Roger has passed. From being a baby I have had Roger in my life through his music, the warmth and tones of his voice will always be with me. I have never known a world without him. Rogers songs helped me get through many tough times. Rest in peace my dear friend. Until we meet again. Love, Alec

A treasured voice from my childhood - You leave a legacy of memorable music and a life well lived. Rest in Peace Roger - your “Last Farewell” Condolences to your family at this sad time. In memory of your time spent living among us in Ireland …. Beannacht (An Irish Blessing), by John O'Donohue On the day when the weight deadens on your shoulders and you stumble, may the clay dance to balance you. And when your eyes freeze behind the grey window and the ghost of loss gets in to you, may a flock of colours, indigo, red, green, and azure blue come to awaken in you a meadow of delight. When the canvas frays in the currach of thought and a stain of ocean blackens beneath you, may there come across the waters a path of yellow moonlight to bring you safely home. May the nourishment of the earth be yours, may the clarity of light be yours, may the fluency of the ocean be yours, may the protection of the ancestors be yours. And so may a slow wind work these words of love around you, an invisible cloak to mind your life.

My deepest sympathies tother Whittaker Family. I only just learnt of Mr. Whittaker's passing. I loved his music thanks to my late Mother who knew him well back in Kenya. She knew him as "Hank" and told me of his red MG that he totalled. My Mum got to meet him again after many years here in the UK. May he rest in peace.
