As I child I grew up with Roger's music. My parents would play his music in (what seemed like) endless car rides. His soothing voice and the beautiful melodies made every journey quite enjoyable. I offer my deepest sympathy to Roger's loved ones. He will be greatly missed!

In the early 1990,s my family received a Signed Photo and message from Roger which really helped our son Cris and us (his Mom and Dad) through a very traumatic time. Cris who was nine years old at the time had been diagnosed with leukaemia and was about to have a Bone Marrow transplant when we received this photo out of the blue. Someone must have contacted Roger and told him of Cris’s illness and of course his liking of Rogers music, he was always playing it. Cris had the BMT at the Birmingham Children Hospital for which he had to stay in an isolation ward in the transplant unit for several weeks. Because of the length of the stay and the seriousness of the procedure he was allowed to take in what he wanted which included a CD player and of course a Roger Whittaker CD. He or we used to play this CD daily during his stay, so much so Cris new the words of the songs off by heart. Cris was very ill and we were close to losing him at one point waiting for the new marrow to take and grow. But grow it did and one day while having a shower he started singing Leaving On A Jet Plane at the top of his voice. We knew then he was feeling better. So thank you Roger, God Bless and Rest in Peace

Your songs were an accompaniment to much of my childhood as my parents listened to them on the radio or albums. And I loved them too. As an adult they can still move me and I can find myself humming or whistling them. A last farewell mr. Whittaker, rest in peace and thank you so much for all the wonderful music you have given us.
