This feels like a personal loss. I was privileged to see Roger in person twice. To enjoy his humor, his velvety voice, his international talent. A beautiful person and a matchless performer. Rest in peace.

Thank you for blessing the world with music that has given me peaceful moments since I was a teenager. I remember a trip to Atlanta in 1975 where it was mentioned Roger Whittaker had just appeared in concert there and had been a big hit. Your music will always be my "go to" for the big and little moments in life. Sing on, Mr. Whittaker!

I was brought up listening to Roger and was still listening through my teens in the eighties and now that I am 62. The wonderful rich timbre of his voice has comforted and raised me up so many times. New World in The Morning always has me smiling and feeling cheerful, no matter my mood. Thank you Roger, for a lifetime of beautiful songs, music and singing….you will be remembered forever by the legacy of your music. Thinking of your family, may they find peace in how much you were loved by us all. A truly lovely, gifted man. Rest in peace.

Admired his singing and whistling ability. When on TV he reminded me of better times and was pleased to have the connection of attending the same University ie Bangor North Wales and studied in the same building with some of the same tutors.

R.I.P Roger - many condolences to your friends and Family. I have been a fan for about 50 years. I was lucky enough to see him live with Mum and Dad who both loved him, his music was the only music we could agree on! I swear he looked straight at me and smiled whilst I was singing along! River Lady was played at my mum’s funeral. Thank you for the music sir! X

R.I.P. Another legend gone. I once won an LP off Radio Tees DJ Alastair Pirrie in Uptons department store in Redcar. I had the choice of Roger or Be Bop Deluxe. I chose Roger. Thanks for the memories.

Rest in peace Roger Whitaker. I have always admired your music and singing ability, little alone your whistling ability. Sad day. I have been thinking and talking a lot about Roger lately. Sad to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family. Kudos to the webmaster for creating this informative website. Kind regards Fridrikur Ellefsen

There is sadness in my heart hearing the passing of such a wonderful man. I remember my first concert where there were seats unoccupied. When he came on stage he explained that we came to see him and not his back, that is why the seats were empty on both sides of the stage. I amassed albums, cassette tapes, and CDs of his wonderful music over the years and only missed one of his concerts that was in my area. There had been a snow storm and my wife was not comfortable driving on the streets. We made it up the following year by traveling to Canada to see him. May his family remember the happy memories, the millions of fans he gathered, and the lives he enriched with his songs. RIP Mr. Whittaker - you will be missed but not forgotten.
